So with Suicidal Tendencies‘/Cyco Miko‘s forthcoming album, they’ve released a video — well, an audio track via their YouTube channel — of the song All the Way. The album, as mentioned is called The Mad Mad Muir’s Musical Tour, and is being released under Cyco Miko, not as ST.

This track is actually a bit of a change in direction, not that they haven’t done that several times before, but this is quite a different sound. But they manage to pull off a different sound while still sounding familiar. This track has more of a metal sound than I’d expect from a Cyco Miko track, which has typically been Muir’s punkier outlet. There’s none of the palm-muted galloping style riffage that I’d expect out of ST either — it’s really quite a different sound. But some of the weirder squealing, wavy guitar sounds remind me of Infectious Grooves.

Suicidal Tendencies have had to cancel their tour of Australia in November 2011. According to the article, “unforeseen events including illness, family commitments and scheduling conflicts have influenced this decision.” The illness I can understand, but the scheduling conflicts sounds a bit weird. Unless it’s stuff that was rescheduled out from under them, because promoters seem to do that sometimes if they don’t think they’re going to pull enough money. They will be touring Europe in January 2012, however.

So it’s really shit, but we’ve got Cyco Miko’s new album to look forward to, which is due next month, titled The Mad Mad Muir Musical Tour. And then after that, we’re expecting a new ST album in 2012.

Earlier this month, a very dedicated fan of Razorwyre made a trio of videos for their song Operation Market Garden. The song is off their EP (which is available on the Razorwyre website for free download) titled Coming Out.

The videos include footage off the movie A Bridge Too Far. They’re the same video, but one includes Polish subtitles, and the other includes German subtitles.

Razorwyre are also working on a new album, so I’ll post more info as I get it.

On eBay username satanictuck (who is John Perez from the band Solitude Aeturnus and his record label Brainticket) is selling the first four Pantera albums, that the band never wanted to acknowledge after they hit it big with Cowboys From Hell, for megabucks.  But if you are feeling equally rich and desperate for them, go for your life… I Am The Night, Power Metal (I think that’s the only one with Phil on vocals?), Projects In The Jungle, and Metal Magic, currently ‘on sale’ at $US85 each rather than US$100 each.  Plus postage.

Australian magazine, Loud, posted an interview with Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies. Most of it revolves around how the music business has changed and how that’s affecting bands.

Suicidal Tendencies are returning to Australia in May 2011.

Despite not yet releasing their much-anticipated new album, 2010 was still a busy year for Los Angeles crossover icons Suicidal Tendencies. The band released both No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family (a collection of re-recordings of early material) and the Live at the Olympic Auditorium DVD during that 12-month span, to the delight of their dedicated fan base. With the band due to return to Australia in May, I spoke to always intriguing, livewire frontman Mike Muir about the progress of their next record, touring, his thoughts on the Internet’s effect on the music industry, the current status of his funk metal project Infectious Grooves and much more.

Metal Underground have posted a short interview with Tom Angelripper of Sodom. In it he talks about their latest album, In War and Pieces, and the status of their cancelled tour in the US.

xFiruath: What’s going on with the band as Sodom heads toward its 30 year anniversary?

Tom: We started in ’82 and it’s going to be in 2012, so we’re definitely going to celebrate it. But everything’s fine. It’s been a long time and we have a new drummer now. Our drummer Bobby left the band a few weeks ago because of some personal problems. We have a new drummer for our next tour. We’re just looking forward.

xFiruath: Before we discuss the new album, are you guys working on any other projects?

Tom: Yes, at the time I’m in the studio with another project called Uncle Tom. It’s German lyrics and kind of metal music. We are looking for a new deal at the time. I hope we can bring it out April or May next year.

xFiruath: Tell me about the latest album “In War and Pieces.”

Tom: At the time I’m really satisfied with what’s going on. I’ve got a lot of fair views from magazines and fans who really like it. We started the production with Waldemar Sorychta and I’m so satisfied. We spent the money for a high tech studio and the producer so we could work for a long time to get it finished. In Germany it’s been really successful. I’m so glad it’s out now.
