Swedish magazine Crank It Up interviewed a bunch of people at this year’s Swedish Rock Festival, including Udo Dirkschneider and Orion, the bassist of Behemoth.

The interview with Udo:

The interview with Orion is bad. Really bad. I don’t know if it’s because of a language barrier, or if the the interviewer was nervous because she had the hots for Orion, or if she just didn’t have much idea of the music, but I’m almost embarrassed to include it here. (more…)

A video is available of Kerrang's interview with Vinnie Paul and Chad Gray of Hellyeah. Apparently Kerrang call videos “podcasts,” but we'll forgive them for now.

There is a Randy Rhoads museum being built in California, near where Rhoads is buried. The prime reason for the location, according to Kelly Garni (ex-bassist for Quiet Riot) and Kelle Rhoads (Randy's brother), is to make it easier for everyone making pilgrimages from around the globe.

The museum is going to be free of charge. Here's the video announcement:

A print magazine dedicated to doom metal — titled Codex Doomicus — appears to be in the works and scheduled for a summer release (winter for those of us in the southern hemisphere).

Based in Quebec, Canada, Codex Doomicus so far has a MySpace page, upon which a history of doom metal appears, a few songs from various doom bands, and a notice requesting material to be reviewed.

Could be interesting. I look forward to its release, and getting hold of a copy.

Ozzy Osbourne has been asked by the Sunday Times (UK) to be a health columnist. How that came about exactly, I don’t know, but as it turns out Ozzy says that “I’ve seen literally thousands of doctors over my lifetime, and spent well over £1m on them, to the point where I sometimes think I know more about being a doctor than doctors do.”

There is a Times blog post introducing him and his qualifications. It’s long, but hilarious reading.

To celebrate the not internationally recognised “International Day of Slayer,” Metal Hammer did a lengthy interview with Kerry King in which they cover a lot of his background and opinions of the world.

The International Slayer day came about when some gumboots on the net decided that the 6th of June 2006 (6/6/2006) was going to celebrate the number of the beast, and who better for that than Slayer. I personally would have thought it would be Iron Maiden who at least have a song called The Number of the Beast. However, given the rabid Internet machine, the Day of Slayer continued after 2006, even though the 6/6/6 thing is invalid. I mean, this year it's 6/6/10. wtf is that? The old lady that lives down the beast's street?

They didn't even pick a satanic, evil band. Tom Araya is a hardened Christian, ffs.

But whatever.

Despite my dislike of Araya, King's got his head screwed on right, and this is a very good interview.
