Forgotten Canadian death-thrashers Infernal Majesty only really have one album of note, their 1987 LP ‘None Shall Defy’. This is the opening track of the album, with infectious vocal lines and dirty riffing. The album plays out in a satisfying and punishing way, with the murky, rather clean guitar tone being unique to this work.

The band itself was late to the thrash scene, so any impact this album could have made was completely ignored by an over-saturated market. They haven’t ever truly broken-up, but have been plagued by lineup issues and an apparent lack of interest. They recorded a concert recently wherein the performed ‘None Shall Defy’ in its entirety, but the preview-video features a lack-luster crowd, and as far as I know, they haven’t released anything since 2007; which saw the release of the ‘Demon God’ EP, and featured a rerecorded “SOS” guest-starring Corpsegrinder of Cannibal Corpse.

Other highlights of this album are the title track, “SOS” and “Into the Unknown”.

None Shall Defy is a forgotten classic, and is totally worth the bandwidth or money for it if you see it in a store somewhere.

Ratt have released a video clip for Eat Me Up Alive, which comes from their recently released album Infestation. That album is their first release in 11 years. I really should listen to it more. It’s a good hard rock album, and certainly lives up to any of their older classics.

Here’s the video for Truce from Death Angel‘s latest album, Relentless Retribution.

The video contains a corpse being cut up so may be NSFW.

Mark Tornillo, Accept‘s new singer and the singer on their latest album Blood of the Nations does a short video interview with Rock Scene. He talks about his influences and the rock scene when he was growing up. A nice bit of insight, but I wish the damn cameraman would hold the camera still. I hate this wanky new Directard wanna-be shit.

I’ve changed the theme for the site. The last one was good, but made the “Read More” link a bit too obscure.

This one has the advantage that everything is clearer. Hopefully you like it. Let me know what you think.

Italian band Mastercastle have made a video from the title track of their debut album (released earlier this year). The track is Last Desire. It’s not a great track, but it’s not bad. I would say they’re probably traditional/hard rock with a slight lean toward power metal. The lead guitarist plays a Strat, which isn’t very metal, but his fingers dance on the fretboard pretty successfully.

The female lead singer, however, does make this video worth watching. Not that I’m a perv or anything. Hahah. Just kidding. Of course I am. Try not to mess your keyboard.

After almost two anxious weeks of waiting, my copy of Triptykon’s Eparistera Daimones Complete Sessions limited vinyl boxset finally arrived from Century Media in Germany.

The boxset includes Triptykon‘s debut album — Eparistera Daimones — and their newly released EP Shatter. Because Eparistera Daimones is 75 minutes long, this had to be split over two LPs, so to include the new EP, this box has 3 heavy-weight 180 gram discs.

First some pictures. (more…)

I’ve just recently got back onto Facebook and thought I’d set up a page for The Metal Lounge in that hope that it’ll bring us a bit more exposure. If you like this site, then hook up and let us know what you think.

Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth has just announced that he is shutting down the official fan club known as Minions of the Wicked in favour of their Facebook page. The Iced Earth Facebook page which was launched on September 1st already has over 7000 fans. He says this is a better way of keeping in touch with the fans and does have to charge them money.

I wonder what will happen to the t-shirts. As part of the membership fee, Iced Earth would release new Minions of the Wicked t-shirts every year, so those who renewed their membership (or signed up new) got the latest shirt.

Source with a lot of blah blah blah is here.
