The Sword have released the video for Lawless Lands, the second chapter of the Warp Riders themed story. The first chapter was Tres Brujas and the third and last part will be Night City.
Lots of interviews flying around at the moment. Here’s another good one, this time Metal-Rules.com interview Suicidal Tendencies. These days Mike Clark (rhythm guitar) and Dean Pleasants (lead guitar) seem to be the ones getting interviewed the most. This time Eric Moore (drums) made an appearance, even if he only spoke rarely. But it’d be nice to see Cyco Miko every now and then.
The interview is almost 10 minutes long and they talk about the recent ST/No Mercy release which was basically old stuff in the new style showing off the talents of the new members. They have some material ready for a new studio album, but Clark says the timing isn’t right. First they’re spending time touring around the world showing people that ST aren’t dead, and second they’re promoting this current compilation album. Once that’s done, they seem to imply that they’ll work on the new album and then I guess do a worldwide supporting tour for that.
Looking forward to it, and I’m hoping they get back to New Zealand. It’s been many a year since they last played here.
I won’t say too much here because you can easily check out their Wikipedia and Facebook pages.
They definitely fit the “WTF?!?!” category. Metal but not metal. Theatrical to an extent. Avant-Garde as they say.
Some reference points which are poor individually but perhaps collectively might give you some idea – somewhere between Ataraxia‘s Paris Spleen album, Devil Doll, Therion, and Arcturus‘ La Masquerade Infernale. That Arcturus album deserves a Wednesday WTF?!?! of it’s own, heh heh.
But it’s all somewhat tongue-in-cheek, with dashes of jazz, lounge, and as their name suggests, some swing in there as well.
Have fun…
DJ Shredder of Metal Assault Radio has done a video interview with Forbidden, the tech-thrash band who recently released the album Omega Wave. They talk about things like creating an album when the band members are across the planet, the impact of the Net on the music, and 70,000 tons of metal.
Respect to DJ Shredder for his fine taste in music. Not only does he have a Suicidal Tendencies hat, but he’s sporting a Lich King t-shirt too.
