If I had a record player I’d buy this.
Candlemass are releasing their second album, Nightfall, on heavy-weight (180 gram) gold coloured vinyl. I’m actually still considering it; but if it was a picture disc for my wall I’d have no hesitation whatsoever.
It’s limited to 2000 copies and is available for pre-order for its September 20 release.
The track list is:
Side 1
- Gothic Stone
- The Well Of Souls
- Codex Gigas
- At The Gallows End
- Samarithan
Side 2
- Marche Funebre
- Dark Are The Veils Of Death
- Mourner’s Lament
- Bewitched
- Black Candles
So no bonus tracks or anything, but will include a gatefold cover and new liner notes from Leif Edling.

There seems to be a lot of vinyl re-releases thesedays. Mind you they aren’t in huge quantities so there can’t be heaps of money being made, but I do wonder if it’s a bit of a cash-in nonetheless.
This is pretty much the most classic Candlemass album, obviously Epicus Doomicus Metallicus set the scene and has 3 ultra classic tracks, but Nightfall is still the most represented album in their live sets.
However Tales Of Creation was my first Candlemass album and I love that one to bits as well.
